I took this photograph because I liked the contrast between the golden sands of the dunes and the vibrant white and blue of the waves. The dune in the photograph has been eroding for years and there is a sign nearby warning people of the dangers of the erosion. In order to preserve our local environment, we must preserve our dunes. The dunes are a huge part of Cape Cod, as is the beach, so I wanted to capture both the dunes and the ocean in one photograph showing their beauty, but also showing the imminent destruction of this beauty.

I took this photo to show the way we eat in my house. We cook everything on our stove. Our kitchen has become a very central place in my house, where we gather to talk to each other and eat with each other. I wanted to show how important eating is in my family, and how fortunate I feel that I get several good meals each day.
